I've been rather busy the last few months. I got married and the planning was taking up a lot of my time. So now that I'm back... I have a post packed full of new updates.
Pica sucks. I'll be the first to say that. Emma is still battling it. Although she's not really trying to eat non food items as much... she still doesn't eat Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152521635768009398.post-27160026613254758232012-03-22T20:18:00.000-07:002012-03-22T20:18:20.412-07:00And it continues.....Since my last update, this post ties into it. We took Emma to an ENT Doctor a week or so ago. He took a look at her throat and got an xray to see the size of her adenoids. After studying the xray, he said that he'd be happy to perform surgery although it's not a guarantee it will fix the problem. I told him to do the surgery if it was medically necessary.
He decided to put her on a nasal spray Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152521635768009398.post-70123398300573863402012-03-04T12:36:00.000-08:002012-03-04T12:36:24.240-08:00Ohhh, I don't feel good....
Well, Friday started like any other day. We woke up Emma for school, got her ready, and listened to the million excuses on why she couldn't go to school. Or so we thought.
She cried that her head hurt, her legs hurt, she was tired, and all the other excuses one hears during their morning routines. Once she was ready and it was time, off to the bus stop she went.
Right after her lunch period, Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152521635768009398.post-68224526431691564622012-02-28T07:33:00.001-08:002012-02-28T07:33:22.083-08:00Who-Ville Hair DayThis week is Read Across America Week. Today is a rather fun day. Lil
Miss's school sent home and event calendar where they asked the students
to do different things each day. Well, today's event is Who-ville Hair
day where all students are asked to wear their hair like a Who-ville
citizen. I just loved the outcome of Lil Misses look and just had to
share it with you. Take a look:

For the past several months, we decided that we'd hold off to see if Lil Miss continued eating well. She began trying new foods and not fighting us when it came to eating. It seems like she's slid back into her old ways. It took her about an hour of screaming and fighting to take ten bites of her Lucky Charms cereal. I didn't think there was a child out there who'd fight to eat Lucky Charms.

I must say, as more time passes, Lil Miss does even better. She's been actively participating in school and following the rules. (Which gives me a little relief because she doesn't always follow the rules at home. This past Wednesday, she brought her report card home in the Wednesday folder.
I have to say I am extremely proud of her. She brought home Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152521635768009398.post-82938508180316710762012-01-25T13:52:00.000-08:002012-01-25T13:52:00.024-08:00So stressing...Here we are on another update with Lil Miss. Her behavior hasn't gotten better. Although, it's been months I'm sad to say she has yet to go to therapy. Life happened and I feel so bad. I know my daughter's needs are very important. Like right now, I know she needs to go but I have no way of getting her there. My car has been broke down for weeks.
We try to get her to eat more of a variety of Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152521635768009398.post-60048804694180708782012-01-21T20:23:00.000-08:002012-01-21T20:23:19.132-08:00Lil Miss lost her first....
She lost her first tooth the other day. She is super proud. We did try the tooth fairy thing but it seems she's not interested. I was really excited when we first noticed the loose teeth. Yes, I say teeth because there was two loose. The one to the left of the space where the first one fell out is now loose too.

Now every year before we open gifts, we have to say what we are thankful for. This gives us a moment to think about the past year. This also gives the chance for us to focus on each other and realize Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152521635768009398.post-71068436808068256012011-12-16T08:43:00.000-08:002011-12-16T08:43:12.552-08:00My Child & A BullyJust recently I learned my daughter was being bullied on her bus. I didn't realize this. I should have though. At the beginning of school, she loved it. She couldn't wait to go back. Then, all of sudden she hates school and wants hubby to take her if she HAS to go. Being a victim of bullying, I knew something was wrong but I didn't think my daughter would have to go through this in Kindergarten.

While she was there, we ordered a picture of Emma and my Mom together. Well, we finally got it and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Therefore, I'm a little behind on everything. It's been rough. But enough about me.... let's talk about Emma.
On the 9th of November, Emma got her first report card. It was a lot better than what I expected. She's passing of course. She's managed to get a C in Math and a B in Reading. Did your kids dress up? I tried to get Emma too. But she didn't want to. We put her pretty costume on her and I even tried fixing her hair. I did her make up too. While I was fixing her hair, she complained that the costume was too itchy and the back kept coming unbuttoned. I thought she was just acting spoiled because she didn't want to stand as I fixed her hair.

I've been working with my daughter with several activities that I'd like to pass on to my fellow readers who have little ones around the school age. They are inexpensive and easy to do.

There's not many Halloween photo's of my daughter from the past. We felt she was too young to enjoy the dressing up aspect of Halloween. Most would disagree with us on this but our parenting style is a bit different from the way we grew up.

Red Ribbon Week. A.L. Wilson Elementary school takes pride in a drug free environment. When I went to school, I don't really remember having any military veterans coming to the school and talking with the students. I do remember recruiters but they were there mainly to do their job. Not to be honored.
So far in A.L. Wilson, I've helped gather items for our troops. They are asked to decorate a pumpkin and bring it to school tomorrow. We got her a nice pumpkin, figured out what she wanted on it, and we went to town. Emma's Kindergarten Picture- So beautiful
For those of you who have been following along, I'm back to give another update. There's been so much going on with Emma and school. She just amazes me everyday. She's learning so quickly though we have come across some things she needs to focus on. We got her mid-way report card last week. She's passing her classes though there's one grade that Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152521635768009398.post-29154711908031991272011-09-28T13:39:00.000-07:002011-09-28T13:39:43.572-07:00A Letter to a VeteranToday Emma's school sent home a paper asking for all students to write a letter to honor a current or former Veteran which would be displayed on the local PA Career Link's "Wall of Honor." This folder is used to send parents important newsletters and notices. I'm so excited to see what they have planned in October for the school.

This gave me the idea to do two things to try to help her learn. One would be to create basic word flashcards to go over with her every night. Second is that I wrote a letter to her teacher asking him for a list of the words he plans on teaching them. This way I can add them Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
